Iowa Legislature Unanimously Passes Bill (Clarification)
In a recent OFFE press release we stated that ‘Iowa State Legislators unanimously approved a Bill that will enhance Federal statutes designed to protect veterans’ disability compensation from attachment in divorce settlements’. We should have stated that HF 170 was unanimously passed by the 83rd General Assembly veterans’ sub-committee and has several more steps to go through before becoming law. We should have been more detailed in our reporting and we apologize for any misunderstanding.
